The Historical Society runs the museum at the Jacobs Farmhouse, stores and archives Norwell-related historic items, and promotes the history of our town through events, tours, and lectures. We DO NOT supervise historic structures in Norwell.
The Norwell Historical Commission is an appointed Town board whose duty is to protect and preserve Norwell’s historical sites for future generations. With expertise in real estate, historic building techniques, and architecture, the Commission works to help Norwell residents realize the value of historic preservation.
If you have an antique home in town and would like to make alterations, please consider contacting the Commission to discuss your renovation plans.
The Society and the Historical Commission often work in conjunction on projects. To see the 2021 Commission Preservation Award videos, click HERE.
